in other (presumably totally unrelated) news i heard on the radio that in the recent past many many full-time jobs were shed while only a lesser number of casual and part-time positions were created (very much in keeping with a longer-term trend). the economist they had to provide a deeper understanding for listeners explained that this was a good development because it would give business greater flexibility. oh yes.

irritated by this i went to go for a walk, but i couldn't because it was 43 degrees. more record-breaking weather or w/e. so later that night, when it was in the low-30's at 3:30am for the second night in a row, i once again didn't go anywhere because it was far too hot
