im coming across more and more articles like this lately:

im 24 years old right now. supposing i live to be 60, simple subtraction suggests that i have 36 years left to see what happens in relation to climate catastrophe and wasteful, exploitative ways of ordering society
so as it appears to me at this time, chances are looking good that i will get to see (and by 'see' i mean 'see on tv' and 'read about online') some very, very significant events occurring while im alive.
im not saying that i'm looking forward to the nightmare future scientists are saying we will all enjoy, only that there is a fair chance that in our lifetimes we will get to see first-hand humankind's response to this catastrophe and, just maybe, when we're very old, we will actually know whether the response was adequate or not. pretty cool right?
